A Weekend in the Outdoors

This past weekend has been very fun! Friday night we went camping with Erin's cousin Kristina and her husband Bryce. It was way cool! We camped in the Provo Canyon, near Bridal Veil Falls. Friday night we hiked up to the falls, where we took some sweet pictures and enjoyed the cool mist. We also played card games, cooked hot dogs over the fire, and had Smores. The neatest thing about Friday night was this thing Erin did that was called a "Zip Party." We got a dry-cleaning bag, tied it in four or five loose knots going up the bag, and then placed it on a hanger which we placed on a tree. Then, we put a bucket of water under the bag and lit the bag on fire! The bag burned a bluish-green flame, and would drip melted plastic down into the bucket. When it would drip, it made this really cool "zip" sound, and made the entire bucket light up (almost like a strobelight). It was really fun!

Saturday afternoon we also had an outdoors adventure. Our good friend Jacob Stewart and we hiked up Stuart Falls. It's a hike that is up by Aspen Grove in the Provo Canyon. Jacob's wife Alysa was out of town so it was just Jacob that came with us. Probably a good thing, too, seeing as Alysa is 8 months pregnant and not in the best hiking-condition right now. It was a beautiful hike in the mountains, and we got to the base of the falls. Really pretty!
